Proper Crisps’ Big Cut

Nelson-based Proper Crisps has launched a new range of thicker crisps from golden pototoes known as Big Cut.

It comes in four flavours – Marlborough Sea Salt, Purple & Gold Cracked Pepper, Dill Pickle & Cider Vinegar and Smoked Paprika – in shared and single serve bags.

The new range is available now from all supermarkets and speciality food stores in New Zealand and product manufactured at its Yarra factory will be available in Australia from mid-April.

The 140g format is priced with the firm’s Proper Potato, Tortilla and Veggie lines with an RRP of $5.00.

The two varieties are greenshell mussel, garlic, onion and kelp, and the salmon, chili and chive.

Seafood company Sanford has teamed up with award-winning butcher Matthew Colvin from The Chopping Block local butchery in Coromandel to create a range of bespoke seafood sausages.

The two varieties – Greenshell mussel, garlic, onion and kelp, and the salmon, chili and chive sausages – will be available at the Havelock Mussel and Seafood festival on the 11 March, with all proceeds going to support the Kiwi Can programme run by the Graeme Dingle Foundation.

They are also available fresh or frozen in Auckland to in-person customers from the Sanford and Sons fish monger at the Auckland Fish Market, starting this weekend while stocks last. Again, all proceeds are going to Kiwi Can.

Girl Guide Biscuits go pink

After 65 years as a Kiwi favourite, Griffin’s has given Girl Guide Biscuits a pink makeover for March 2023.

The fundraising campaign is a partnership between the snacking firm, supermarket group Woolworths and the guide organisation, and sees the biscuits sold at local Countdown, SuperValue, and FreshChoice supermarkets.

Each packet of biscuits sold delivers $1 to GirlGuiding New Zealand, with the RRP for the 190g traditional chocolate and original flavours coming in at $3.80.
