Fresh Cuts: What’s new for the week to 9 September?

9th September 2022 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Check what’s new to the market for the week to 9 September 2022. Do you have a new product scheduled for release? Send us the details at product@foodticker.co.nz and we’ll help spread the news.

Forty Thieves enters a new category, Otis Oat Milk goes organic, Nestlé brings together two of its coffee and chocolate brands, and Fix & Fogg makes its PBJ permanent.

The newest member of the Forty Thieves product range is a peanut satay Stir Fry Paste.

The Hibiscus Coast-based company says the better-for-you cooking sauce is made with 74% peanuts, and believes they are the first New Zealand nut butter company to launch such a product.

The 290g jars have an RRP of $8.49 and are available at Huckleberry and Farro Fresh.

Another first in New Zealand oat milk, with Otis launching the first oat milk made with 100% organic Aotearoa oats onto supermarket shelves.

The Organic One has been in development for a number of years while Otis overcame the challenges of growing the country’s first organic oats for milk production, which came from Lilybank Station at the top of Lake Tekapo and Avalon Farms in West Otago.

The company said it completely redesigned its oat milk production process to meet international organic standards.

The 1-litre cartons have RRP $6 and are available to buy from select New World’s nationwide, organic grocers, and online from Otis.

Nestlé is bringing together its coffee and chocolate brands in a new release.

Its Nescafé Café Creations range has been extended to include two Milkybar-inspired coffee flavours: Nescafé White Choc Mocha and Nescafé Gold Choc Mocha.

The flavours are available from most major supermarkets nationwide from September for RRP $6.59.

And finally, not quite a new product, but kind of.

Wellington nut butter company Fix & Fogg has announced that its Peanut Butter and Jelly flavour, initially introduced as the winning flavour in a ‘design your own nut butter’ competition, is to become a permanent part of its range.

The company said it has been supported across all markets – including the USA – the home of PB&J.

In New Zealand, the 275g jar is available at New World, Pak’nSave, Thrive Market and the Woolworths banners for $5.99.
