Fresh Cuts: What’s new for the week to 4 August?

4th August 2023 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Farrah’s unwraps a new pizza base line, Duck Island teams up with The Avo Tree, and Moa Brewing gets in on the better-for-you action.

Farrah’s new pizza bases

Farrah’s has introduced pizza bases alongside its growing wrap range.

It has two on offer including a keto-friendly option, with both made with olive oil, yeast and dairy-free, and vegan-friendly. The keto option has just 2.1g of carbohydrates per serve.

They are sold in packs of three, with the Original Pizza Bases priced at $6.50 and the Keto Pizza Bases at $7, and can be found in New World and Pak’nSave stores nationwide.

Duck Island and The Avo Tree’s Avocado Rice Bubble ice cream

Hamilton ice cream purveyor Duck Island has gone a little bit savoury for its latest addition.

It has teamed up with Bay of Plenty-based avocado produce company The Avo Tree for its latest flavour, namely Avocado Rice Bubble.

Described as avocado ice cream swirled with toasted rice bubble cereal milk ice cream, scattered with chewy little clusters of white chocolate-coated rice krispies, it is scooping in all Duck Island stores now.

Moa’s Panorama Low Carb Lager

And a new one from Moa Brewing Co this week too.

The brewer is steadily building out its range, with its latest proposition targeting the growing low-carb sector in New Zealand.

It is touting its better-for-you credentials at 1.5g of carbs and 86 calories per serving.

Pricing is pending.
