Fresh Cuts: What’s new for the week to 26 August?

26th August 2022 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Check what’s new to the market for the week to 26 August 2022. Do you have a new product scheduled for release? Send us the details at product@foodticker.co.nz and we’ll help spread the news.

Spring is in the air, with wine label Headline Acts hitting New Zealand, The Bond Store extending its Cocktail Collusion range, BeerHug and the Brewers Guild slinging award winners, and Six Barrel branching out.

Wine label Headline Acts has launched in New Zealand via Pernod Ricard Winemakers.

The brand is musically minded, with a dedication to the industry through initiatives that provide emerging bands and fans with access to live gigs and festival moments.

The four varieties – Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Rosé Bubbles – are available in liquor stores and supermarkets nationwide with an RRP of $19.50.

Online craft beer retailer BeerHug has joined forces with the Brewers Guild of New Zealand to produce a
limited edition box of 12 trophy winners from the recent New Zealand Beer awards.

These beers were awarded for being “true to style” – not just current trends or interpretations – and were the winners selected from 828 brews across New Zealand.

Priced at $159.99 + shipping, registrations opened 22 August and ‘those successful in securing a box’ will be announced 4 September for shipping on 5 September.

Kapiti distillery The Bond Store has added to its range of premium cocktails-in-a-can.

The new Cocktail Collusion flavours are Miss Sunset blends Kawakawa gin, Orangecello and Blood Orange, and Ms Cosmo uses Koakoa vodka, Orangecello, rhubarb, raspberry and rosehip.

A four pack of the 250ml cans with 6.9%ABV sells for $23.

And this last one is not a food or beverage, but we are sliding it in here as it is an interesting diversification by a beverage business.

Six Barrel Soda – the Wellington company that makes real fruit syrups to be mixed with home-made sparkling water doing away with single-use plastic drink bottle, has started making its own carbonators.

It said although there were a bunch around some didn’t meet its ethical standards and some were beautiful but unaffordable, hence The Sparkler.

They are available for pre-sale via Six Barrel for $199, and will be shipped in mid-late September.
