Fresh Cuts: What’s new for the week to 17 February?

17th February 2023 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Whittaker’s brings together Blondie and Biscuit, Mars makes moves with Skittles to tie in with Pride celebrations, and Unilever goes plant-based with its Best Foods mayo.

Mars’ Pride Pack Skittles

To coincide with Pride celebrations in New Zealand, Mars has released a limited edition Pride Pack, to raise awareness for the LGBTQIA+ community by removing the rainbow from their packaging.

The brand has also partnered with the Rainbow New Zealand Charitable Trust, making a donation of $10,000 to the charity which maintains a fund to build strength through diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community.

This is the first Pride activation for the brand in New Zealand, having celebrated the event internationally since 2016.

The colour-less rainbow Pride 200g packs are available in stores from 13 February.

Whittaker’s Blondie and Biscuit

Whittaker’s has released a new limited edition Blondie and Biscuit 250g Block.

Available only while stocks last, it pairs the signature flavour of Whittaker’s authentically caramelised Blondie chocolate with dark, crunchy, homestyle biscuit pieces for a moreish new treat.

It is available in stores nationwide from Monday 20 February 2023 with RRP $5.89.

Best Foods’ Vegan Mayo

Unilever looks to plant-based demand this week.

The global company’s Best Foods brand has launched its new Vegan Mayonnaise, which it says has the same creamy taste as the original, but is 100% plant-based.

It can be purchased from Countdown, Pak n Save and New World with an RRP $8.00.
