Online supermarket startup Supie has thrown its support behind Consumer NZ’s new petition calling for fairer supermarket prices.
Supie founder Sarah Balle said the supermarket duopoly was making huge profits and something has to be done.
It supported the recommendation by Consumer NZ chief executive Jon Duffy to regulate access to wholesale supply or set up a state-owned wholesaler to create an even playing field for new and existing grocery retailers.
