Tairāwhiti’s Wi Pere Trust is receiving a $1.6m loan from the latest round of Provincial Growth Funding to help with water supply for a horticultural initiative.
The loan is part of more than $20m in Government funding which has been given to water projects around New Zealand.
The Wi Pere Water Storage project would provide a reliable water supply to allow the land to be developed into horticulture vegetable production, creating jobs and opportunities.
