Fresh Cuts: What’s new for the week to 19 January?

20th January 2023 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Wellington Chocolate Factory teams up with Havana Coffee for a new limited edition release, Motueka Creamery adds a Belgian chocolate to the mix, and Charlie’s changes for game day.

WCF and Havana Coffee’s Oat Flat White bar

Two of the capital’s longstanding F&B brands have collaborated on what they say is New Zealand’s first Oat Flat White chocolate bar – released as the city marks Wellington Anniversary weekend.

Wellington Chocolate Factory’s new vegan bar features Havana Coffee’s Pacifica blend, which makes the bar’s appearance more similar to milk chocolate even though it is the first white chocolate bar made by the chocolate makers for general release.

It is a strictly limited edition, with only 1000 bars available. Some 100 of these are being sold at WCF’s Eva Street and Chaffers Street Stores this weekend. The bar can also be purchased online and will be shipped from Tuesday 24 January.

Motueka Creamery’s Bark Bay Belgium Chocolate

Talley’s ice cream brand Motueka Creamery has also looked to chocolate for flavour inspiration this summer.

The boutique ice cream producer based at the top of the South Island has released a new flavour – Bark Bay Belgium Chocolate – named after a favourite Abel Tasman National Park location.

The 1L tubs are now on sale at supermarkets across the country for around $9.55.

Charlie’s changes to Henry’s for a limited time

Another limited edition, this time from New Zealand drinks brand Charlie’s.

The brand, owned by Japanese beverage company Asahi, has changed its name to Henry’s to celebrate rugby legend Sir Graham Henry.

The special limited edition bottles are only available at The Black Clash, which takes place today at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
