F&B campaigns lauded, Lion’s Tiny Pub wins gold Effie

Lion New Zealand’s Tiny Pub campaign has won gold at the 2021 Effie Aotearoa Awards.

Agencies DDB Aotearoa & Mango Communications picked up the accolade last night for the memorable promotion of Lion’s Emerson brand in the Best Strategic Thinking category.

The awards event, held virtually last night, is organised by the Commercial Communication Council and recognises New Zealand’s best marketing campaigns.

Lion’s Tiny Pub, the only F&B campaign to take gold, also won silver in the Most Effective PR/Experiential Campaign and Sustained Success categories and bronze in the FMCG class.

McDonald’s Kiwiburger promotion, Burger King’s The World’s Best Burger, Made Better by Burger King campaign, and Mars’ MyHooman also picked up silver awards.

Campaigns from Coca Cola Amatil, DB Breweries, Foodstuffs, and Mondelēz International’s Cadbury won bronze awards.

Colenso BBDO won the Most Effective Agency accolade and the Unite Against Covid-19 campaign for the government won Clemenger BBDO Wellington & OMD Wellington four of the 13 gold Effies contested.

Saatchi & Saatchi won the Grand Effie for Toyota’s Hilux Unbreakable Bond campaign
