Comvita’s mixed reality Mānuka honey tasting experience, developed in partnership with Microsoft, is set to become part of everyday trading at some Asia stores, following first use of the retail technology at New Zealand Expo in Dubai.
The collaboration saw Comvita use Microsoft’s HoloLens headsets to give customers a multi-sensory experience that incorporated taste with the sights and sounds of the New Zealand forest, while sampling its products.
Comvita expected to have at least two locations running with HoloLens this year, one in Kuala Lumpur and the other in Shanghai, with dates yet to be confirmed.
