Countdown’s Sally Copland was named New Zealand Chief Information Officer of the Year at Tuesday’s 2020 CIO Awards at the Civic Theatre in Auckland.
Copland, general manager of digital, scooped the prize for her work leading the CountdownX team, the Woolworth subsidiary’s digital platform, which was an integral part of the retailer’s swift response to Covid-19.
Under Copland’s leadership, Countdown’s online business had grown to 11% of total sales and was now one of the largest grocery retail sites in New Zealand.
