Woolworths sets demerger date with drinks division

11th May 2021 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Listed Australian supermarket chain Woolworths has set a date to complete the spin-off of Endeavour Group, its drinks and hospitality business – a move first mooted back in July 2019.

A shareholder vote regarding the plan to create two ASX-listed companies is set to take place on 18 June, and if approved, the new drinks business – which would control 1,600 stores including the Dan Murphy’s and BWS bottle store chains – would start trading on 24 June.

Shareholders would retain all existing shares in Woolworths, while also gaining one share in Endeavour Group for every share they held in the combined company.
