T&G’s Lutz departs after nine years

24th June 2021 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

T&G Global’s outgoing chairman, Professor Klaus Josef Lutz, said the fresh produce company is “primed to harness opportunities into the future” following a strategic programme of work carried out over his nine-year tenure.

“Enabling the selling of non-core assets allowed reinvestment into growth activities, contributing to the development of new plant varieties and world class genetics, redevelopment of orchards and the introduction of state-of-the-art technology and automation,” Lutz said, delivering his final comments at the group’s 100th annual shareholder meeting yesterday.

“This strategic growth continues, and with its focused business strategy, strong leadership and continual improvements, T&G is primed to harness opportunities into the future,” Lutz added.

Lutz’ left the company after yesterday’s annual meeting. He was succeeded by Benedikt Mangold, who leads German parent company BayWa’s global produce division and has previously worked at T&G.
