Federated Farmers has reported a 7% increase in the average yield across six milling/malting and feed cereal crops last season, despite challenging weather conditions.
Federated Farmers has asked new Prime Minister Chris Hipkins to “slow down the legislative programme, get it right and concentrate on those things that will help families and businesses prosper”.
New Zealand will ultimately pay more for their food when the substantial increase in international workers’ pay kicks in from February, according to Federated Farmers.
The Government will phase out the export of livestock by sea.
