Seeka interim profit jumps, FY guidance up

20th August 2021 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

New Zealand’s largest kiwifruit grower, Seeka, posted a sharp rise in net profit before tax in the six months ended 30 June 2021, up 77% to $30.8m compared with the same six months last year.

It said strong demand for its services contributed to record group revenues of $224m in the six-month period; up 26% on June 2020.

In May, Seeka completed its $59m purchase of Ōpōtiki Packing and Cool Storage, an eight-million-tray kiwifruit operation.

Seeka also upgraded its forward guidance, and now expected its full-year net profit before tax to be between $13.5m and $16m, up on the last financial year if extraordinary items are stripped out.
