New Zealand red meat values remained strong in January despite pressure on export volumes.
Data from the Meat Industry Association said values reached $940m in January, a rise of 27% on January 2021.
There was an overall drop in red meat volumes in January because of supply chain and Omicron absenteeism pressures.
A total of 3,061 tonnes was exported, 41% lower than January 2021, with a drop in exports to Britain and the major European markets.
