Police enquiries ongoing following Countdown stabbings

12th May 2021 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Police have examined the scene of Monday’s attack at the Dunedin central Countdown supermarket on Cumberland Street, with “gathering evidence from the scene” one of the top priorities.

Superintendent Paul Basham said the police had also been working to identify and speak to as many witnesses as possible, as well as the victims involved.

A 42-year-old man appeared on Tuesday in Dunedin District Court on four counts of attempted murder. He was remanded in custody to reappear on Tuesday 1 June.
