A collection of businesses, NGOs and governments from across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands have joined together to back an ambitious range of targets to eliminate plastic waste from supply chains by 2025.
The ANZPAC Plastics Pact has four 2025 goals comprising the elimination of unnecessary and problematic plastic packaging; ensuring 100% of plastic packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable; increasing the current volume of plastic packaging and effectively recycled by at least 25%; and ensuring an average of 25% recycled content in plastic packaging across the APAC region.
