The Organic Products Bill will help bring the country’s organic sector into line with international certification, says GE Free New Zealand.
The legislation, under which genetically engineered organisms were prohibited, was currently going through its final stages at Parliament.
GE Free NZ said the changes could be a major boost for exporters meeting the global demand for safe, ‘clean’, GE-free organic products.
