Listeria detection prompts Pak’nSave precautionary recall

30th November 2020 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

New Zealand Food Safety is calling on the public to return Pak’nSave branded, sliced-in-store, ready-to-eat meat products purchased at the supermarket in Blenheim as they may contain listeria bacteria.

“An earlier recall at the store in October followed the detection of listeria in some packaged meat products,” NZFS national manager of food compliance services Melinda Sando said.

“Subsequent visits by MPI, as well as testing at the store revealed the presence of listeria on equipment, resulting in a precautionary recall to ensure risk to consumers is minimised.”

A full list of recalled foods can be found here.
