KVH in new BOP pest plant programme

4th November 2020 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Kiwifruit Vine Health and the Bay of Plenty Regional Council have confirmed a new 10-year agreement to help fight the spread of the wild kiwifruit pest plant.

The two parties aim to continue a programme control the spread of the plant which is considered a significant threat to native bush and forestry.

KVH would manage the administration involved in the programme and contribute $150,000 annually towards control and surveillance costs. The council would contribute $100,000 per annum and help to gather landowner contributions.
