The kiwifruit sector has reached an out-of-court settlement with the Government over long-running litigation arising from the 2010 incursion of the vine disease, Psa.
The plaintiffs, Strathboss Kiwifruit Limited, representing a group of kiwifruit growers, and Seeka Limited, a post-harvest operator, plus others, agreed to accept a Crown offer of $40m, which included a contribution from the Crown’s insurers of $15m.
