Hospitality vital to social mental health and wellbeing – survey

18th October 2021 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

A new international survey from global public opinion and data company YouGov has underlined the contribution hospitality venues make to social and mental wellbeing, says Hospitality New Zealand.

The survey found that around two third of adults polled agreed the social and mental wellbeing of the general population has been negatively impacted as a direct result of the closure of hospitality venues.

Some 45% of respondents agreed that their own social and mental wellbeing had been negatively affected by the closure of cafes, bars and restaurants; while lockdown meant that 57% of adults had a better appreciation of the contribution the hospitality sector brought to their own social and mental wellbeing.

The sample size of the survey was not given.
