Fresh Cuts: What’s new for the week to 8 April?

8th April 2022 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Check what’s new to the market for the week to 8 April 2022. Do you have a new product scheduled for release? Send us the details at product@foodticker.co.nz and we’ll help spread the news.

A chocolate-heavy mix this week in the run up to Easter with Nestlé mixing up a traditional Christmas treat for this holiday, Whittaker’s saving kiwis, and Pic’s and Cathedral Cove Naturals saving berries.

Whittaker’s is supporting New Zealand charity Save the Kiwi with a chocolate kiwi option this Easter.

The products are available in either Five Roll Refined Creamy Milk or 50% Dark Chocolate, with 20c from every Chocolate Kiwi bought going straight to Save the Kiwi and their kiwi breeding programme.

On sale at supermarkets and other retailers nationwide with an RRP of $7.99ea.

And Nestlé adds a Scorched Almonds egg to its line-up, comprised of a milk chocolate egg filled with the traditional treat.

The egg is packed in a recyclable box avoiding the traditional, rigid plastic used in many Easter egg boxes.

Available nationwide from Countdown and in North Island New World and Pak ‘n Save stores with RRP $11.

Finally, a limited edition following a collaboration between Cathedral Cove Naturals and Pic’s Peanut Butter.

The plant-based yoghurt company’s latest offering is saving 405kg of boysenberries, after Pic’s local Nelson berry processors shut up shop for good, leaving the ripe fruit behind.

Pic’s made the decision to end its Boysenberry Jelly in late 2021, after the closure but found a new home for the excess berries.

Cathedral Cove Naturals Coconut Yoghurt with Pic’s Boysenberry Jelly 500g is available for $9 RRP for a limited time only at supermarkets nationwide.
