12th August 2022 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

Check what’s new to the market for the week to 12 August 2022. Do you have a new product scheduled for release? Send us the details at product@foodticker.co.nz and we’ll help spread the news.

Wattie’s launches a One Pan range, Fever-Tree adds a Distillers Cola to its mixers, Pōkeno Whisky Company’s first single malts come to market, and Moccona releases its 2022 limited edition collection.

Convenient – check. Flexitarian friendly – check. Value – check. Fast – check.

Wattie’s has launched One Pan, a new frozen range with four vegetarian flavours comprising Italian Style Risotto, Spanish Style Veg Paella, Moroccan Style Couscous, and Asian Style Lentil Curry, that take 10 minutes to cook.

The 600g bags serve two, have an RRP of $12, and are being sold at Pak’nSave and New World.

Fever-Tree has extended its range of mixers with a new Distillers Cola, designed for mixing with dark spirits, such as rums and whiskies.

The London-listed premium mixer company said its cola has a distinctive blend of spices and citrus fruits, including Madagascan vanilla to enhance the complex flavours of dark spirits.

It is available in 4 x 200ml packs from liquor stores nationwide for RRP $10.99.

Pōkeno Whisky Company’s first single malts have come to market five years after the business was founded by Matt and Celine Johns.

Pōkeno Origin is fully matured in first fill bourbon casks; Pōkeno Discovery is a combination of spirit aged in first fill bourbon, oloroso and PX sherry casks, married together in cask for a final period of maturation; and, Pōkeno Revelation twins spirit aged in first fill bourbon and New Zealand red wine casks, married together in cask for a final period of maturation.

The Pōkeno range of single malts can be bought online directly from the distillery, a selection of independent whisky specialist stores, and at more than 120 Liquorland stores throughout New Zealand.

Moccona has released a 2022 limited edition jar collection under the theme of ‘make a little difference’ featuring six winning designs selected from student submissions.

Each design takes inspiration from a chosen charity, which is then in for the chance to win its share of A$100k donated by the JDE Peet-owned brand in line with the results of a public vote.

The new decorative jar collection will be available in supermarkets and comprises designs from:

  • Renew – Nicole Canuto, Auckland – Planet Ark
  • Pedalling Forwards – Jemma Ortiger, Sydney – Dismantle
  • Our Whales Below – Kaitlyn Geltner, Tasmania – ORRCA
  • Protecting Friends, Celebrating and protecting Australia’s biodiversity – Celine Groene, Sydney – Wildlife Victoria
