New National Party leader Chris Luxon has moved a number of food-related shadow portfolios in his first shadow cabinet.
Taranaki – King Country MP Barbara Kuriger retains the opposition agriculture spokesperson role but picks up the shadow biosecurity portfolio. She moves up the rankings from 14 to 10 and also retains food safety.
Rotorua MP Todd McClay has been allocated trade and export growth from Nicola Grigg and Todd Muller picks up oceans and fisheries from Tim van de Molen. Van de Molen has been allocated horticulture from David Bennett.
