The monthly value of goods exported in October 2021 rose to $5.3bn in October 2021, up 12% compared with the same month last year, according to Stats NZ.
The leading export commodity group movement was milk powder, butter, and cheese, up 18% to $1.5bn. Milk powder rose 19%, or $134m, due to an 18% rise in price per kilogram.
Stats NZ said meat exports shot up 25% to $584m, with the increase in exports to China accounted for 43% of the rise.
Total sheep meat exports rose by 25%, or $62m, and the price per kilogram increased 26%.
