Fisheries New Zealand has opened consultation for its latest sustainability round, on proposed changes to catch limits for a number of fisheries around the country set for April 2021.
Consultation runs for six weeks and is set to close on 5 February 2021 and includes changes Flatfish in the East Cape, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington and Taranaki and Blue Cod in the Chatham Islands.
Four of the stocks – flatfish, stargazer, dark ghost shark and blue cod – are proposed to have their total catch limits and allowances set for the first time. View the proposed changes here.
