Food rescue charity KiwiHarvest is calling on New Zealanders to waste less and donate food to local organisations for today’s World Food Day.
The economic impact of Covid-19 meant that more Kiwis were struggling with food hardship than ever before.
Blandina Diamond, KiwiHarvest general manager, said that while initial donations from generous individuals and businesses had been a significant help, demand for food remained consistently high, even since lockdown came to an end.
