The Restaurant Association has welcomed a move by the government to introduce an enhanced business support package.
“The Auckland hospitality industry continues to be disproportionately affected by the pandemic and it is time that our government recognised this by providing financial relief that is specific and targeted to our sector,” Restaurant Association chief executive Marisa Bidois said.
The pledge was made by prime minister Jacinda Ardern yesterday at the same time as she announced Auckland was to remain at the current alert level for an additional two weeks.
Further details would be outlined by finance minister Grant Robertson on Friday 22 October.
