A2 Milk to defend second class action

25th November 2021 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

The A2 Milk Company says it will defend a second class action filed in the Supreme Court of Victoria in Australia, this time by Shine Lawyers.

Law firm Slater and Gordon launched class action proceedings against the dairy company in October.

A2 Milk said Shine’s filing relates to the period from 19 August 2020 to 9 May 2021 and makes allegations broadly similar to those advanced by the class action proceeding filed by Slater and Gordon Lawyers on 6 October 2021.

Slater and Gordon’s class action alleges A2 Milk engaged in misleading or deceptive conduct in breach of Australia’s Corporations Act, and breached continuous disclosure rules in posting four earnings downgrades during this period.

A2 Milk said it would “vigorously defend” both proceedings.
