Call centre staff from Countdown’s Auckland central office went on strike on Tuesday afternoon, after a “disappointing” settlement offer during negotiations.
The group had asked for higher pay from the Australian-owned Woolworths subsidiary, according to First Union.
Tuesday’s strike, the third industrial action taken by staff over pay, involved a lunchtime picket in Manukau City before workers were to take the rest of the day off.
Strike action began in late October.
