20th October 2021 By Staff Reporter | news@foodticker.co.nz | @foodtickernz

The National Party has launched its Back in Business Covid-19 recovery plan it says will “save livelihoods and unleash our economy”.

The plan includes:

  • ‘dine and discover’ $100 vouchers for every vaccinated person to support hospitality, accommodation and tourism
  • an insurance scheme for major events
  • a new small business tax rate of 17.5% for two years
  • $150,000 immediate write-off on costs of new plant, equipment and related software to stimulate investment in more productive assets
  • lifting the 10.5% personal income tax threshold from $14,000 to $17,000
  • extending the loss carry-back scheme

National leader Judith Collins said it would also put an end to lockdowns, and reopen the borders when New Zealand hit 85%-90% vaccination, or on December 1, whichever came first.

The 33-page plan can be read here.
